German Man Arrested After Ordering 1 Kilo of Amphetamine Through The Mail

On Monday, the police received notification of a suspicious package in a distribution center in the Würzburg area. A check resulted in the strong suspicion that the contents of the package were narcotics. When it was opened after a judicial confiscation order had been issued, around a kilogram of amphetamine was found, which had presumably been ordered by the addressee on the darknet.

The package was addressed to a 20-year-old from Würzburg. A judicial search warrant was obtained for his apartment, which was carried out on Monday. Extensive evidence was seized. According to the current status of the investigation, there is a suspicion that the 20-year-old is trading extensively in narcotics and that he has been shown to have ordered around 5.5 kilograms of amphetamine in six cases.

The suspect spent the night in the detention cell of the Würzburg police and was brought before the district court on Tuesday at the request of the Würzburg public prosecutor. The investigating judge ordered the young man’s pre-trial detention due to the strong suspicion of illegal trafficking in narcotics. He is now in a correctional facility.
